After your arrival in Lima you will go on a tour through the city, its colonial buildings and museums representing its colonial origins. On the next day hop onto a flight to Arequipa, also known as “The white city”, followed by a visit of the breathtaking Colca Canyon. Deeper as the Grand Canyon it is home to Condors, the largest bird in the Andes and Western Hemisphere. With a private transport you will go to Puno, the city located at Lake Titicaca on the Peruvian side. Hop onto a boat for an ultimate cruise around Lake Titicaca and visit the floating islands and its inhabitants that still continue to live as their ancestors did. Day-1

LIMA

Lima is the capital of Peru and the perfect place to start your Peruvian adventure. When you arrive into Lima International airport, a GP Travel representative will be waiting with your name on a sign to take you to your selected hotel in the Miraflores. Travel from the airport to the hotel in the comfort of your own private transfer car. When you arrive to the hotel, the representative will give you a briefing of the following days.
Depending on your arrival time make sure to check for Lima's best restaurants. With the exquisite Peruvian culinary they are among the top 50 best restaurants worldwide.

Day-2

LIMA

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel you will be picked up for your private Lima city tour. With your guide and private transport make your way to the San Martin Plaza and Plaza de Armas, connected by the beautiful Jiron de la Union pedestrian-only street. It was built in 1535 and enchants with its restaurants, shops and mix of colonial and new buildings. After strolling along this charming street we will arrive at the main square, the Plaza de Armas. It is surrounded by the imposing Congress of the Peruvian Republic palace and the Monastery of San Francisco, a magnificent Spanish baroque building. It is famous for its convent library with more than 25,000 important antique works and Lima's first cemetery underneath the monastery. Remains of about 70,000 burials are hidden in the Catacombs with its narrow passages and numerous bones and sculls filling the deep pits. Following this fascinating excursion we will make our way to get lunch at an exclusive restaurant from where you will have a wonderful view over the Peruvian sea.
Our next stop is the Larco Herrera museum of pre-Columbian art, a significant part of Lima history. It is located in an 18th-century vice-royal building in the Pueblo Libre District of Lima. Underneath lies pre-Columbian pyramid of the 7th century. Over 4,000 years of Peruvian pre-Columbian history are displayed in chronological galleries as well as pre-Columbian erotic pottery.
After finishing your tour you will be brought back to your hotel for a free afternoon of leisure.

Day-3

LIMA - AREQUIPA

In the morning enjoy a tasty breakfast in your hotel. Afterwards our private transport will pick you up and take you to Lima International airport to catch your domestic flight to the “White City” of Peru: Arequipa. Once you have arrived there you will already notice the nice and warm climate, do not forget your sunscreen. A GPTravel representative will already be there waiting for you to take you to your hotel. Arequipa is at a higher altitude than Lima, take some time to rest.
In the afternoon you will start your guided excursion through the beautiful city. You will notice that it is surrounded by various volcanoes, the most popular one is called “Misti”. On your tour you will visit Juanita, a young girl who was found frozen at the top of a volcano in 1995. To end your private excursion, visit the main square of Yanahuara for an amazing view of the city and its surroundings.

COLCA VALLEY

Your private journey today starts very early. Our destination is Chivay in the Colca Valley. Along the way you will have the opportunity to take pictures of the Pampa Cañahuas, home of a big llama herd amid the beautiful landscape of the Colca Valley with the surrounding volcanoes. After arriving in Chivay a lunch buffet will be prepared for you before your check-in at the hotel.
Afterwards enjoy some free time. Visit the hot springs of Calera, it is said that its water has healing properties.

Day-5

COLCA VALLEY - PUNO

Today's highlight is the “Cruz del Condor”, the best viewpoint to spot Condors flying and to have an incredible overlook over the impressive Colca Canyon. Condors, the largest flying birds in the world play an enormously important role in the Andean folklore and mythology. The Incas considered it as a sacred bird. Your tour takes you through picturesque villages and amazing landscapes featuring the impressive glaciers Ampato and Hualca. At the “Cruz del Condor” you will fully realize and appreciate the magnificence of the almost 4,000 feet deep Colca Canyon.
Afterwards you will make your way back to Chivay to enjoy a tasty lunch. Then you can explore the local market there before your journey to Puno begins. The private transport takes you along a road through the mighty Andes to your hotel where you can rest.

Day-6

PUNO

Early in the morning, between 6:30 AM and 6:40 AM, our guide will pick you up for your private tour on the Lake Titicaca. You will navigate across the lake to the unique Uros Floating Islands. Made out of a water plant in the lake, the totora reed, its inhabitants follow a tradition that was passed on for years. The totora reed is also used for building houses, beds and even boats.
Afterwards, ride on a reed canoe for a trip around the floating islands on the vast Titicaca lake. Your visit to the floating islands will be followed by a tour of around 2-hour to Taquile Island. Once you have arrived at the Taquile beach the local people will give you a warm welcome and a delicious lunch they have prepared with fresh ingredients. Once you have enjoyed lunch explore the beauty of the island. Then, travel back to Puno by boat from where you will be brought back to your hotel to relax.

Day-7

PUNO - CUSCO

Once you are satisfied by your breakfast in the morning, your guide and private transport will pick you up from your hotel for the journey from Puno to Cusco. Along the way you will stop at interesting sites. The first one is the pre-Inca site of Pukara followed by La Raya. This is the also considered as the highest point and border between Cusco and Puno. You are invited for a delicious buffet lunch at a restaurant before your next stop Racchi, also known as the Temple of Wiracocha. The purpose of the mud-brick and stone walls were to repel enemies form the South.
Your last halt will be in a town called Andahuaylillas, not far from Cusco. It is home to a magnificent chapel, commonly known as the Sisitne Chapel of America, where you can see beautiful antique frescoes, altarpieces covered in gold and unique wood sculptures. On your arrival in Cusco a private vehicle will already be there for you to escort you to your hotel.

CUSCO

In the morning your guide will pick you up from your hotel for your private tour through the city of Cusco. Once the capital of the Inca Empire it was also considered as one of the most powerful cities of the world, next to Cairo, Rome and Athens. Though with such power it was eventually conquered by the Spaniard in the 16th century. While they built monasteries and churches on top of Inca temples and houses, parts of the original Inca structures are still preserved. Together with the cobbled streets and the Colonial-Inca mix of architecture, tourists and local Cusqueños create an incomparable atmosphere. Backpacker hostels next to luxury hotels, local restaurants as well as restaurants of fine dining, bars and clubs influencing the centers flair. A buzzing South-American jewel of history and culture all in one. Your tour will lead you to the Cathedral at the main square, an UNESCO World Heritage since the 1980s with the most Holy Christian artifacts. In contrast to the Colonial church the Qoricancha, also known as “the Temple of the Sun” and once the most important and worshiped Inca palace. Then explore Sacsayhuaman on top of Cusco, one of the biggest Inca construction around the city. Continue your tour to other Inca remains close to the city: Q'enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.
To end the tour you will return to your hotel for a free afternoon to explore or relax.

Day-9

SACRED VALLEY

Start your morning with a nice breakfast at your hotel to be strengthened for the day. Your private guide will meet you at your hotel for your tour through the Sacred Valley. It begins with the circular terraces of Moray, an ancient agricultural laboratory due to its variations in temperature and soil types. Your next halt is Maras, not far from Moray. It is a picturesque colonial town with an incredible salt mine complex that stretches like an ocean in front of you. With its complex network of water canals it is still in use today. You will have the opportunity to take some of the unique Maras salt home.
After an informative morning enjoy lunch at an elegant restaurant. Visit Chinchero Archeological Site with its beautiful terraces and colonial chapel that is said to have been built over an Inca temple. Local women will show you their special skills of weaving the traditional textiles and beautiful patterns. They still use antique Inca techniques to this day.
Your tour ends back in Cusco, only around 45 minutes from Chinchero, where you can rest at your hotel or explore the former Inca capital.

SACRED VALLEY

Today, you will go on an excursion through another beautiful part of the Sacred Valley. In the morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to take you to Pisac, a small picturesque village amid the mighty Andes. Next to Pisac, on top of a mountain, lies majestically the archeological Inca complex. There you will have a private tour through the ruins and their fascinating history. While your stay enjoy the wonderful view over the Sacred Valley and the Urubamba river. Later, walk through the small alleys and adobe homes to explore the charming market where you can find handmade ceramics, jewelry and traditional textiles. Afterwards, you are invited for a delicious lunch in an elegant restaurant in the heart of the Sacred Valley.
To continue the tour you will make your way to Ollantaytambo, home of an incredible archeological site left for us by the Incas since the 15th century. Consisting of huge terraces and irrigation systems it was place of a successful battle against the Spanish conquistadors under Inca Manco, after Inca Pachacutec conquered it years before and made a home to Inca nobility. Once the Spaniards came back with even more force he and his men had to retreat. The Temple of the Sun, which was never finished, featuring the impressive wall of the Six Monoliths with each stone weighing 50 tons. Your tour leads you not only to religious sites but also along walls with stones perfectly fitting together, the famous and incredible Inca architecture.
Finish this spectacular tour through history with a transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley where you can enjoy a free afternoon or explore more hidden treasures on your own.

MACHU PICCHU

Off the bucket list! Today is the day that hundreds of people are excited for every day. Finally visit Machu Picchu, “the lost city of the Incas”. Your private transport will pick you up early in the to take you to Ollantaytambo train station in the Sacred Valley. A 1 hour and 45-minute train ride passing by a beautiful scenery through the Andes will take you to Aguas Calientes, a small village next to Machu Picchu at the edge of the Peruvian jungle. At the train station there your guide will already wait for you and an around 25-mintue bus ride will take you to the entrance of Machu Picchu Sanctuary. Hidden in the mountains the citadel was not known to the outer world until 1911, when Yale archeologist Hiram Bingham discovered it and made it accessible to the world. Its majesty and magnificence fascinates millions of people each year. With a private tour your guide will take you to a journey through time back to the 1400s, making the Inca heritage accessible to the outside world.
Once back from your time travel enjoy an exquisite lunch next to the Machu Picchu citadel, at the Tinkuy restaurant by Sanctuary Lodge. Afterwards you can take the bus or if you wish walk back to Aguas Calientes. At the designated catch your train back to Cusco, a transport will already await your arrival to bring you back to your hotel.

Time to say goodbye! We will transfer you to Cusco International airport for you to catch your flight back to Lima. You will arrive in time to check in at the airport for your international flight.
