Our luxury tour called EXPERIENCE THE AMAZING ANDES is all the best of our country. With the first stop Lima, home of three of the top 50 restaurants in the world and some of the most important museums, you get to know Peru’s capital.

Not far away are the world-famous Nazca Lines that can only be seen properly from the air. Followed by a tour around the Ballestas Islands with its sea lions, penguins, dolphins and seabirds. After arriving at the former Inca capital Cusco we will continue with a tour through the Sacred Valley, which was of great value to the Incas given its variety of microclimates and fertile land.

The next stop is Pisac with its impressive Inca buildings and traditional market. Maras, the salt terraces, and the mysterious circle terraces of Moray are a significant part of the Sacred Valley. A delicious lunch at the “Niños del Arco Iris” foundation will be followed by the breathtaking Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo. Part of this amazing experience is of course Machu Picchu, the main destination of every traveler’s bucket list. Enjoy the ancient citadel and the breathtaking surroundings in a private tour.

Day-1

LIMA

On your arrival into Lima International airport, your English speaking GPTravel representative will be waiting for you with your name on a sign to escort you to your hotel. At the hotel, we will help you with your check in and you will be given a briefing regarding the coming days. Founded in 1535 by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizzaro, Lima is a mix of colonial structures, pre-Columbian sites and modern buildings.
Depending on your arrival time make sure to check for Lima's best restaurants. With the exquisite Peruvian culinary they are among the top 50 best restaurants worldwide.

Day-2

LIMA

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel you will be picked up for your private Lima city tour. With your guide and private transport make your way to the San Martin Plaza and Plaza de Armas, connected by the beautiful Jiron de la Union pedestrian-only street. It was built in 1535 and enchants with its restaurants, shops and mix of colonial and new buildings. After strolling along this charming street we will arrive at the main square, the Plaza de Armas. It is surrounded by the imposing Congress of the Peruvian Republic palace and the Monastery of San Francisco, a magnificent Spanish baroque building. It is famous for its convent library with more than 25,000 important antique works and Lima's first cemetery underneath the monastery. Remains of about 70,000 burials are hidden in the Catacombs with its narrow passages and numerous bones and sculls filling the deep pits. Following this fascinating excursion we will make our way to get lunch at an exclusive restaurant from where you will have a wonderful view over the Peruvian sea. Our next stop is the Larco Herrera museum of pre-Columbian art, a significant part of Lima history. It is located in an 18th-century vice-royal building in the Pueblo Libre District of Lima. Underneath lies pre-Columbian pyramid of the 7th century. Over 4,000 years of Peruvian pre-Columbian history are displayed in chronological galleries as well as pre-Columbian erotic pottery.
After finishing your tour you will be brought back to your hotel for a free afternoon of leisure.

Day-3

LIMA – NAZCA

Today is the day to fly over the world-famous Nazca-Lines! Still a mystery until today, these gigantic carvings attract thousands of people every year and leave them speechless while gazing upon them from up above. Starting point of your flight over the Nazca Lines and the nearby Palpa Lines will be Pisco airport. From above observe the giant drawings of geometric figures and animals like the monkey, hummingbird and llama. With up to 300 m in size you can get a great look for around 1 hour and 40 minutes from a 12-passenger capacity plane. For 20 minutes you can precisely observe the Lines.
In the afternoon get ready for an optional and exciting sandbuggie ride through the dunes of Huacachina, the largest dunes in South America. You can also hop on a sand board to race down the dunes before making our way back to your hotel.

NAZCA - LIMA

Once you got up and finished breakfast we will transport you from your hotel to a private excursion on a boat to the Ballestas Islands. They are an archipelago off the shore of Paracas. The islands are full of arches, tunnels and other wind and sea sculptures as well as different kinds of sea birds and sea lions. An interesting stop is Punta Pejerrey from where you can see a candelabra-shaped drawing in the sand close to a cliff, also known as “Candelabro”. The Ballestas Islands tour is followed by exploring the Paracas National Reserve with your guide. The purpose of the reserve is to protect large breeding populations of Humboldt penguinas as well as more than 60 migratory bird species and South American fur seals and sea lions. But not only the wildlife enriches this the reserve but also numerous plants and geological formations found along the beaches.
For lunch you will be transferred by private car to Paracas before driving back to Lima.

Day-5

LIMA- CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY

In the morning you will be taken to Lima International airport by our private transport to take your domestic flight to Cusco. It is an around 1-hour flight crossing the Andes and numerous towns amid Andean fields.
In Cusco our guide will already be there and welcome you to this beautiful city. Your journey takes you about 40 minutes to the Sacred Valley with a stop at the Living Museum of Awanakancha on the way. There you will get to know local weavers, see Peru’s national animal, the Vicuña, as well as Guanacos, Llamas and Alpacas. The agricultural terraces are a part of the valley’s scenery. The next stop of your luxury tour is Pisac, a picturesque village where the Urubamba river crosses through and surrounded by a series of microclimates due to its special geographic. The land is extremely fertile wherefore the main agricultural products are cultivated there. Pisac is also popular for its impressive Inca complex on top of a mountain. After your visit stroll through the charming Pisac market where you can buy lovely handicrafts, textiles, jewelry and ceramics.
Time for lunch: Enjoy a delicious lunch at an elegant tourist restaurant in the heart of the valley, after which you will be taken to your hotel.

Day-6

SACRED VALLEY

The first stop after a tasty breakfast in the morning is Moray, circle-shaped terraces that are believed to once have been some sort of agricultural laboratory due varying temperatures and soil types. Heading on Maras, a beautiful small colonial village next to the Maras Salt Mines, an ocean of salt puddles connected by a complex network of water canals. After a busy morning we introduce to you the “Niños del Arco Iris” Foundation. It is one of the social projects of utmost importance in the valley. It is dedicated to provide good education and healthcare to children and teenagers. There you will also be served a delicious BBQ lunch prepared by a local cook while you can enjoy a lovely view of the countryside.
Once fully satisfied by the tasty lunch we will make our way to Ollantaytambo. The small village inherits an impressive Inca complex, built under Inca Pachacutec whose daughter was courted by Inca chief Ollanta. The archeological site, located on top of a mountain offers a great view as well as interesting structures: The Temple of the Sun, a Royal Hall and the Baños de la Princesa. The plenty of terraces demonstrate its agricultural functions and the temple and watchtowers are evidence for its religious as well as military purposes a long time ago.
At the end of this informative day you will be transferred to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

SACRED VALLEY- MACHU PICCHU- CUSCO

The most anticipated day has finally arrived! Today you will start your journey to Machu Picchu, the greatest treasure of Peru. Your exciting luxury tour starts early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel and a short drive through the Andes to Ollantaytambo train station. There you will take the train to Aguas Calientes, a scenic small village close to Machu Picchu. Your guide will already be expecting you to accompany you for a bus ride of 25-minutes along serpentines up to Machu Picchu citadel. From there your private around 2 hour guided tour will commence. Built in the 1400s, Machu Picchu was untouched for hundreds of years and survived the Spanish conquistadors that never found it due to its hidden location high up in the mountains. The resulting conservation allows us today to be part of this astonishing picture. Numerous agricultural terraces, buildings that are evidence of an outstanding architecture and temples merge into the mountainside seamlessly. Viewed as one of the Seven New World Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983 Machu Picchu is considered as one of the most beautiful places in the world, demonstrating and embodying everything about the mysterious lost Inca civilization.
After your guided excursion around the sanctuary you will have lunch at the Tinkuy restaurant by Sanctuary Lodge, the most luxurious restaurant next to Machu Picchu. Afterwards, a bus will take you back to Aguas Calientes to catch your train back to Cusco where a transport will already wait for you to bring you back to your hotel.

Day-8

CUSCO

In the morning your guide will pick you up from your hotel for your private tour through the city of Cusco. Once the capital of the Inca Empire it was also considered as one of the most powerful cities of the world, next to Cairo, Rome and Athens. Though with such power it was eventually conquered by the Spaniard in the 16th century. While they built monasteries and churches on top of Inca temples and houses, parts of the original Inca structures are still preserved. Together with the cobbled streets and the Colonial-Inca mix of architecture, tourists and local Cusqueños create an incomparable atmosphere. Backpacker hostels next to luxury hotels, local restaurants as well as restaurants of fine dining, bars and clubs influencing the centers flair. A buzzing South-American jewel of history and culture all in one. Your tour will lead you to the Cathedral at the main square, an UNESCO World Heritage since the 1980s with the most Holy Christian artifacts. In contrast to the Colonial church the Qoricancha, also known as “the Temple of the Sun” and once the most important and worshiped Inca palace. Then explore Sacsayhuaman on top of Cusco, one of the biggest Inca construction around the city. Continue your tour to other Inca remains close to the city: Q'enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.
To end the tour you will return to your hotel for a free afternoon to explore or relax.

CUSCO - LIMA

Time to say goodbye! We will transfer you to Cusco International airport for you to catch your flight back to Lima. You will arrive in time to check in at the airport for your international flight.
