Your journey takes you about 40 minutes to the Sacred Valley with a stop at the Living Museum of Awanakancha on the way as well as a short briefing of the following days. There you will get to know local weavers, see Peru's national animal, the Vicuña, as well as Guanacos, Llamas and Alpacas. The agricultural terraces are a part of the valley's scenery. The next stop of your luxury tour is Pisac, a picturesque village where the Urubamba river crosses through and surrounded by a series of microclimates due to its special geographic. The land is extremely fertile wherefore the main agricultural products are cultivated there. Pisac is also popular for its impressive Inca complex on top of a mountain.
After your visit stroll through the charming Pisac market where you can buy lovely handicrafts, textiles, jewelry and ceramics. Time for lunch: Enjoy a delicious lunch at an elegant tourist restaurant in the heart of the valley, after which you will be taken to your hotel.

Day-2

Your anticipated day begins with an early pick-up from your hotel and a transfer to Ollantaytambo train station. After your guide has received you at the Aguas Calientes train station a bus will take you along serpentines up to Machu Picchu entrance. Together with your guide you will go on a 2-hour excursion through this majestic city and unravel its mysteries. Built by Pachacuti Inca Yupanci more than fivehundred years ago, it still leaves us without a clue about its original purpose. The answer lies somewhere in the solid stonewalls, constructed by the famous, unique Inca architecture of stones fitting perfectly together. High up in the mountains, surrounded by cloud forests, Machu Picchu survived the Spanish conquest in the 16th century. With its temples, agricultural terraces and expertedly crafted buildings it leaves us speechless up to this day. A UNESCO Wold Heritage since 1983 it allows us a glimpse back into the mighty Incan Empire, once the largest existing empire in pre-Columbian America.
After your guided excursion enjoy lunch at the Tinkuy restaurant, part of the Belmond Sanctuary lodge and the most luxurious restaurant next to Machu Picchu, welcoming you with a variety of delicious food. Then take the bus back to Aguas Calientes where you will catch the train in the afternoon back to Cusco. A private transport will already be waiting for you to escort you to your hotel.
