MACHU PICCHU

Considered as one of the Seven New World Wonders, Machu Picchu is one of the most popular destinations in the world. Get ready for your once-in-a-lifetime experience, it starts today!
Your anticipated day begins with an early pick-up from your hotel and a transfer to Ollantaytambo train station. After your guide has received you at the Aguas Calientes train station a bus will take you along serpentines up to Machu Picchu entrance. Together with your guide you will go on a 2-hour excursion through this majestic city and unravel its mysteries. Built by Pachacuti Inca Yupanci more than fivehundred years ago, it still leaves us without a clue about its original purpose. The answer lies somewhere in the solid stonewalls, constructed by the famous, unique Inca architecture of stones fitting perfectly together. High up in the mountains, surrounded by cloud forests, Machu Picchu survived the Spanish conquest in the 16th century. With its temples, agricultural terraces and expertedly crafted buildings it leaves us speechless up to this day. A UNESCO Wold Heritage since 1983 it allows us a glimpse back into the mighty Incan Empire, once the largest existing empire in pre-Columbian America.
After your guided excursion enjoy lunch at the Tinkuy restaurant, part of the Belmond Sanctuary lodge and the most luxurious restaurant next to Machu Picchu, welcoming you with a variety of delicious food.
