On your way visit the living museum Awanacancha with its astonishing expressions of the Andes before you arrive in Pisac with its beautiful market and Ollantaytambo’s impressive ruins with a marvelous view over the city. On the same day visit Maras and Moray. Moray with its circular terraces up to 30 m large and Maras, a beautiful colonial town with its salt fields. The following day you will finally visit Machu Picchu, the once hidden Inca citadel high up in the mountains. Finish your travels with exploring the city of Cusco and its surrounding Inca remains.

Day-1

CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY

Upon your arrival your guide will welcome you and pick you up for your tour through the Sacred Valley. Along the way he will give you a short briefing of the following days before you stop at the Living Museum of Awanakancha. Weaving processes of the typical and beautiful textiles can be seen there, allowing a glimpse into Cusqueñan traditions, along with a wonderful view of Incan agricultural terraces and South American camelids such as the Vicuña, Llama, Alpaca and Guanaco.
Your journey continues through a scenic landscape: plenty of agricultural terraces and picturesque villages surrounded by mountains show us the beauty of the Sacred Valley which was once highly appreciated by the Incas due to its fertile lands. The first stop is Pisac, well-known for its lovely market offering handwoven textiles, ceramics, jewelry and more. Your tour there starts with making your way to the Pisac ruins, sitting enthroned up on a mountain it offers a great view over the Andes and the Urubamba river. It is believed that some of the carved stones where used for astronomical purposes by the Inca priests. Then take a stroll through the market where you can buy souvenirs as a memory of your journey.
After a knowledgeable through the Inca valley enjoy a tasty lunch at an elegant tourist restaurant. Then we will make our way back to your hotel where you can rest the remaining day.

Day-2

SACRED VALLEY

Start your day with a tasty breakfast before starting your tour through the Sacred Valley. The first stop is Moray, popular for its circular shaped terraces. These are believed to have served as a kind of agricultural laboratory. The temperature varies between the different terraces which makes it perfect to test different kinds of crops. Continue your tour to Maras, not far from Moray. Next to the colonial town lies the incredible salt mine complex: countless salt puddles stretching into vastness. On your tour have the opportunity to buy salt in different variations. Afterwards visit the “Niños del Arco Iris” Foundation, an important project that provides good education and healthcare to children and teenagers in the Sacred Valley. You can enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch a local cook prepared for you while surrounded by the amazing landscape the valley has to offer.
After lunch your private transport will take you to Ollantaytambo. The beautiful village features an impressive archeological site up on a mountain. Right next to the archeological site, if you take a closer look from further away, you can see the face of Wiracocha carrying sacks on his shoulder. Wiracocha, an Inca deity, is believed to be the creator of all things.
To conclude your tour today you will be brought to your hotel in the heart of the Sacred Valley.

Day-3

MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

Off the bucket list! Today is the day that hundreds of people are excited for every day. Finally visit Machu Picchu, “the lost city of the Incas”. Your private transport will pick you up early in the to take you to Ollantaytambo train station in the Sacred Valley. A 1 hour and 45-minute train ride passing by a beautiful scenery through the Andes will take you to Aguas Calientes, a small village next to Machu Picchu at the edge of the Peruvian jungle. At the train station there your guide will already wait for you and an around 25-mintue bus ride will take you to the entrance of Machu Picchu Sanctuary. Hidden in the mountains the citadel was not known to the outer world until 1911, when Yale archeologist Hiram Bingham discovered it and made it accessible to the world. Its majesty and magnificence fascinates millions of people each year. With a private tour your guide will take you to a journey through time back to the 1400s, making the Inca heritage accessible to the outside world.
Once back from your time travel enjoy an exquisite lunch next to the Machu Picchu citadel, at the Tinkuy restaurant by Sanctuary Lodge. Afterwards you can take the bus or if you wish walk back to Aguas Calientes. At the designated catch your train back to Cusco, a transport will already await your arrival to bring you back to your hotel.

Day-4

CUSCO

In the morning your guide will pick you up from your hotel for your private tour through the city of Cusco. Once the capital of the Inca Empire it was also considered as one of the most powerful cities of the world, next to Cairo, Rome and Athens. Though with such power it was eventually conquered by the Spaniard in the 16th century. While they built monasteries and churches on top of Inca temples and houses, parts of the original Inca structures are still preserved. Together with the cobbled streets and the Colonial-Inca mix of architecture, tourists and local Cusqueños create an incomparable atmosphere. Backpacker hostels next to luxury hotels, local restaurants as well as restaurants of fine dining, bars and clubs influencing the centers flair. A buzzing South-American jewel of history and culture all in one. Your tour will lead you to the Cathedral at the main square, an UNESCO World Heritage since the 1980s with the most Holy Christian artifacts. Then explore Sacsayhuaman on top of Cusco, one of the biggest Inca construction around the city. Continue your tour to other Inca remains close to the city: Q'enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.
To end the tour you will return to your hotel for a free afternoon to explore or relax.

CUSCO - LIMA

Today is the day of your departure, a private transport will take you to Cusco International Airport for your domestic flight back to Lima. There you will have enough time to check in for your international flight back home.
